Nitric oxide measurement by self-absorbing gas cell

Abstract: A radiometer is developed to quantify the nitric oxide density in the mesosphere and thermosphere by measuring the γ (1, 0) 215 nm band twilight airglow. It discriminates the airglow from background radiations such as the Rayleigh scattered sunlight by making use of a self-absorbing gas cell.
