For simple regression analysis between the means of BSC and Hb concentrations, data in May 2003, April 2004 and May 2004 were plotted. The mean BSC was found to be significantly correlated with the mean Hb concentration (r2 = 0.538, P = 0.015, Pearson's correlation coefficient) and the mean ATP content (r2 = 0.784, P = 0.019, Pearson's correlation coefficient).
