Sections (A, D, F) were subjected to in situ hybridization with a digoxigenin-labeled PRL receptor oligonucleotide probe, and their counterparts were stained immunocytochemically with anti-Na+/K+-ATPase (C) or with hemotoxylin and eosin (E, G). An adjacent section (B) of the gill (A) was subjected to hybridization with the unlabeled probe as a negative control.
